I was excited and nervous to meet the giraffes. Any time there is a wild animal that is significantly larger than you it can be intimidating. But I was reminded that the giraffes weren't seeing my hand as food, they really wanted the lettuce I was holding out for them. And with their large tongues swooping out, there were no teeth in sight to be afraid of.
